The Perfect Red Lip

Röda läppar är alltid super snyggt men kanske inte alltid den lättsköttaste läpplooken. Jag bekymrar mig i varje fall ofta när jag har röda läppar att läppstiftet smetar och att jag konstant måste applicera till läppstift för att det skall se snyggt och jämnt ut. Här kommer mina favorit tips för att få de röda läpparna att hållas snygga så länge som möjligt!

Red lips is always hot but maybe not the most wearable lip look. At least when I'm sporting I red lip I keep worrying about smearing, bleeding & the need to constantly touch up. Here are some of my favorite tips to keep that red lip looking fabulous for as long as possible!

1. Börja alltid med att peela läpparna så att de inte är torra och fnasiga, på detta sätt blir resultatet mycket jämnare. Efter det är det viktigt att återfukta läpparna med läppomada eller Bepanthen, som jag föredrar. Applicera läppomadan 15-20 minuter före du skall måla läpparna så att den hinner absorberas.

Always start by exfoliating your lips. You want to apply your lipstick to a smooth surface to make it last longer and look better. Also remember to moisturize your lips. Apply lip balm about 15-20 minutes bore your going to be painting your lips so that the balm has time to absorb.

2. Sedan är det dags att måla runt läpparna med en läppenna, detta gör att läppstiftet inte rinner upp i eventuella fina linjer runt munnen. Läppennan behöver inte vara exakt samma färg som läppstiftet, en liknande röd nyas duger riktigt bra. Själv brukar jag måla läpparna helt och hållet eftersom det gör att läppstiftet hålls längre och när de börjar slitas är det inte din bara läpp som syns där under utan färgen av läppennan.

Next up is lining your lips with a lip liner. This prevents the lipstick from bleeding. The lip liner doesn't have to be the exact same color as your lipstick, a similar shade is good enough. Personally I like to fill in  my lips completely because it helps you lipstick stay on longer and when it does wearing off you'll see the color of the lip liner and not of your bare lips.

3. Sen är det dags för läppstiftet, jag använde mitt favorit röda stift, Russian Red från Mac. Jag finner det allra lättast att applicera läppstift med en läppensel. Det gör applikationen mycket mer exakt, och när det är rött man använder vill man kladda så lite som möjligt. Ett bra knep för att få läppstiftet att vara så länge som möjligt är att le riktigt brett du då applicerar stiftet så att du får läppstift i alla de små vecken.

Now it's time for lipstick, I used my favorite red lipstick, Russian Red from Mac. I find it easiest to apply the lipstick with a lip brush, when you're using an intense red you don't want to mess up. A good tip for making the lipstick last longer is to have a big smile while applying so that you get lipstick in all the small crevices in the lips. 

4. Avlägsna sedan överlopps läppstift genom att pressa läpparna mot en bit papper. Applicera sedan ett nytt lager läppstift. Även detta hjälper läppstiftet att hållas längre.

Remove the excess lipstick by blotting your lips on a piece of paper. After that go a head and apply a second layer of lipstick.

5. För att skapa extra definition och djup applicerar jag en mörkare läppenna i båda "mungiporna" och lite inåt. Detta får också läpparna att se större ut. Blanda sedan ut den mörkare färgen med läppenseln. För att se till att kanterna är jämna och för att korrigera ifall man har råka måla "utanför linjerna" brukar jag ta concealer på en liten pensel och putsa upp runt läpparna. Ifall man vill få läpparna att se ut som sammet man applicera lite röd ögonskugga på läpparna. Detta ser riktigt snyggt ut men kan få läpparna att kännas lite torra.

To create extra definition and depth to my lips I use a darker lip liner in the corners the lips. It also makes the lips look bigger, just make sure to blend the darker color with the lip brush so that there's no harsh lines. To clean up the edges and to correct any mistakes I put a small amount on concealer on a tiny brush and go around the edges of the lip. If you want to create a really velvet finish to the lips you can pat some red eye shadow on. It looks really good but it can make the lips feel a little dry. 

6. Voila du är klar! Samma metod passar bra att använda med alla mörk röd och plommon stift som är så trendiga just nu.

Voila, you're done, now all you need to do is go out and rock you're red lips! The same method works great for all the dark maroon and plummy colors that are very popular this season.
