Än en gång en jämförelse mellan MAC och Wet n' Wild men ett faktum är att de har väldigt många väldigt lika ögonskuggor. Denna gång står kampen mellan MACs Brulée och Wet n' Wilds skugga som t.o.m. bär samma namn, Brulée. Båda är ljusa gräddfärgade skuggor som är passar perfekt som en highlight under ögonbrynet. Wet n' Wilds version är helt och hållet matt medan MACs är i en s.k. "satin finish".
   När man för ser på skuggorna ser de otroligt lika ut men så fort man försöker göra färgprover märker man att Wet n' Wilds version är mycket mer pigmenterad mjuk. Jag hade faktiskt riktigt svårt att få någon färg alls från min MAC skugga som ni ser på bilderna. Visst måste man knacka av penseln efter att ha doppat den i skuggan från Wet n' Wild för att undvika att det faller ner skugga på kinderna men det absolut inget problem eller ett jobbigt steg för mig. Burlee från Wet n' Wild är faktiskt min mest använda skugga någonsin, är på min tredje tror jag. Just nu har jag den i Vanity Paletten men tack och lov finns den att köpa individuellt! I denna omgång är Wet n' Wild definitivt en vinnare, kan inte hylla skuggan tillräckligt, dessutom kostar den 3,95€ här i Finland medan en MAC skugga kostar kring 17€.


Once again I'm comparing MAC and Wet n' Wild, but the matter of fact is that they have many very similar eyeshadows. This time the battle is between Brulée from MAC and the Wet n' Wild shadow with the exact same name, Brulee. Both of them are light cream colored shadows perfect for highlighting the brow bone. The Wet n' Wild shadow is completely matte while the MAC has a so called "satin finish".
    At first glance the shadows look almost identical bat as soon as you go to swatch them you notice the difference. The shadow from Wet n' Wild is so pigmented and creamy while the MAC one is quite hard, I actually struggled to get some color from mine (which you see in the pictures). Sure, you might have to tap off the brush a bit after dipping it in to the Wet n' Wild shadow to avoid kind small amount of fall out, but that really doesn't bother mer. Brulee from WnW is by far my most used shadow, I think I'm on my third one right now. Currently I'm using the one in my Vanity Palette but thankfully they sell them individually as well. I can't say enough good things about WnW's Brulee so it's pretty clear that's the winner this time. You can also get it for 3,95€ here in Finland while a MAC shadow is about 17€!

Review: Michael Todd True Organics Acne-Oily Skin Regimen

I början på januari började jag testa en ny hudvårdsserie från Michael Todd. Serien är riktad till fet och acnedrabbad hy. Michael Todd True Organics produkter, precis som namnet säger, är gjorda av ekologiska ingredienser (enligt USAs reglering). De innehåller inte parabener, sulfater, syntetiska doft- och färgämnen eller extra tillagt vatten för att späda ut produkterna. Dessutom de också tillverkade USA. Michael Todds produkter förespråkas även av många kändisar vilket man kan tolka både på gott och ont. Hur som helst har jag nu testat serien tillräckligt för att ge er en grundlig recension på produkterna så var beredda på ett långt inlägg (förlåt!), hehe.

In the beginning of January I started testing out a new skin care series from Michael Todd. I've been using the products for blemished and oily skin. The whole Michael Todd True Organics skin care line is made from U.S. certified organic ingredients. They don't contain any parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances or artificial dyes. There also hasn't been added any extra water to dilute the products. Michael Todd products also have quite a few celebrity spokespersons which you can interpret as positive or negative. Anyway, now I feel like I've been using the products for long enough to give a good and thorough review so be prepared for a long blog post (sorry!), hehe.

Det första jag lade märke till var att ansiktstvätten är svart, vilket ju är lite ovanligt. Detta beror så klart på kolen, men ja tyckte det var ganska intressant och spännande. Den är också otroligt dryg, man behöver bara en ynka lite droppe för att få till stånd ett riktigt rikligt lödder. Tvätten tar super bra bort smink vilket är viktigt, alltid orkar man ju inte använda en skilt sminkborttagningsmedel och precis som beskrivningen säger är det inte uttorkande. Tyvärr är det dock ingen mirakelbot mot finnar. Visst har jag mindre av dem, och mindre pormaskar med men jag tror mera att det har att göra med min Aztec Secrets ansiktsmask och med Epiduo krämen att göra. Jag vet inte om jag nödvändigtvis skulle köpa denna på nytt, jag gillar den men jag älskar inte den fullkomligt.

The first thing I noticed about the cleanser was the color, it's black. This is of course due to the charcoal, but I like it's interesting and different. This product will pretty much last you forever, you only need the tiniest little driblet to create a rich lather. It also removes makeup like a dream, which is important because you don't also feel like using a separate makeup remover. Just like the description says it's not at all drying which is super good because I use a lot of acne treatments that already dry out my skin. Unfortunately though it's not a miracle cure for blemishes. I haven't noticed a huge reduction of breakouts, yes my face stays quite clear but I feel like that's because of my EpiDuo medical cream and the Aztec Secrets clay mask. I don't know if I would hurry to repurchase this product, I like it but I'm not loving it.

Det viktigaste för mig var att ansiktsvattnet inte innehåller alkohol för det torkar ut min hy på noll tid. Sen så vet det flesta av er också att jag inte gillar starkt doftande produkter men doften här är inte alls irriterande eller speciellt stark, utan rätt så fräsch. Dessutom är det antibakteriellt vilket är helt ypperligt för finnig hy. Jag kan inte säga annat än att jag älskar detta ansiktsvatten! Det är utan tvekan det bästa jag testat hittills och jag har heller inget behov att pröva något nytt. Det torkar varken ut min hy eller irriterat den utan återfuktar och lugnar huden. Helt perfekt!

The most important thing about a toner for me is that it doesn't contain alcohol because that will totally dry out my skin in a second. Luckily this one is alcohol free, which I love. I also have a problem with heavily scented products, as most of you know, but the smell of this toner isn't particularly strong or annoying it's just fresh and nice. The product is also antibacterial which is awesome for anyone suffering from acne. I simply love this toner! It's by far the best one I've ever tried and actually don't feel the need to try any other toner. This one doesn't dry out or irritate my skin but rather moisturizes and sooths it, perfect.

Det första som slog mig gällande denna produkt var att den doftar lite underligt och att den tjockare till konsistensen än traditionella serum. Serumet doftar starkare än de andra produkterna, doften är nästan kryddig men som tur försvinner den vid applikation. Trots att serumet är tjockare är det absolut inte flått utan riktigt lätt och det sugs snabbt in i huden. Jag vet inte om jag inbillar mig men jag tycker att min acneärr ha blivit lite ljusare och är mindre synliga, vilket är helt fantastiskt. Detta serum och ansiktsvattnet är mina absoluta favoriter i hela serien och jag kommer definitivt att köpa det på nytt.

The first thing I noticed about this product was the kind of odd smell and that it's thicker in consistency than most traditional serums. The scent is a bit stronger then in the other products, it smells kind of spicy but fortunately the scent disappears upon application. Even though the serum is a bit thicker it's by no means greasy or heavy but really light and it's quickly absorbed into the skin. I'm not quite sure if it's totally imaginary but I feel like my acne scarring has gotten lighter and less noticeable, which is amazing! This serum along with the toner are my absolute stand out products from the line and I will definitely repurchase this one.

MOISTURE LITE - 70 ml, $29

Jag har lite blandade känslor vad gäller denna produkt. Jag skulle inte hålla med om att den är "non-greasy" i varje fall inte på min hy. Krämen absorberas inte in helt och håller av min hud så hyn förblir ganska glansig efter applikation. Jag brukar ta bort all extra glans med en servett före jag börjar sminka mig. Doften på denna fuktighetkräm är också väldigt stark, den doftar riktiga citroner! Eftersom jag ett stort fan av citrusdofter måste jag säga att doften stör mig inte det minsta. Produkten är nog tillräckligt återfuktande och täpper inte till mina porer eller irriterar huden på annat sätt vilket är bra. Tyvärr är detta nog inte min favorit produkt just för att den lämnar min hy så glansig vilket en person som redan annars har fet hy verkligen inte vill. Jag skulle också önska att den skulle ha någon form av solskydd eftersom det ju är en dagkräm. Det är inte alls en dålig duktighetskräm men helt enkelt inte fullständigt ändamålsenlig för mig.

I have quite mixed feelings about this product. I wouldn't totally agree with the statement that it's totally "non-greasy", at least not on my skin. The lotion doesn't get absorbed completely into my skin,
the surface remains a bit tacky and quite shiny after application. I usually have to blot my skin with a piece of tissue before I apply makeup. The scent of this moisturizer is also pretty strong, it smells of real lemons! Thankfully I love citrus scents so I don't mind the scent at all. I do feel like the moisturizer provides enough hydration and it doesn't irritate my skin or clog my pores. Sadly it's not my favorite product just because it leaves my face looking so shiny and greasy which is definitely something you don't want when you already have oily skin. I also which it would contain some sort of SPF since it is a day cream. I don't think it is a bad product, it's just not what I look for in a moisturizer.

KAOLIN CLAY MASK - 100 ml, $34

Av alla Michael Todd produkter jag testat är detta den jag gillar allra minst. Jag vet inte vad det är för ingrediens i den som irriterar min hy men det första fem minuterna efter applikation bränner den så mycket att mina ögon tåras. Kan man tåla dessa första fem smärtsamma minuter så lugnar huden nog ner sig och masken torkar. Jag gillar inte heller att masken lämnar ett oljigt skikt på huden då man tvättar bort den. Man är dessutom tvungen att tvätta ansiktet på nytt med ansiktstvätten efter att man sköljt bort masken för att bli av med det oljiga skiktet och för att bli av med alla röda rester av masken. Jag är heller inget större fan av maskens tunna konsistens. Nej, detta är nog en definitiv miss för mig. Kommer inte att köpa denna på nytt eftersom den irriterade min hud och jag märkte inte heller några speciella förbättringar , håller mig till min trogna Aztec Secrets lermask.

Of all the Michael Todd products I tried this was by far my least favorite. I don't know which ingredient in that irritates my skin but during thee first five minutes of application the mask absolutely burns on my skin so much that my eyes starts watering. If you can withstand the first five painful minutes the skin will eventually settle down when the mask starts to dry. Something else I don't like is that the mask leaves an oily film on your skin even though you've rinsed it off. This means that you have to wash you face again with the cleanser just to get rid of this film and the other red residue the mask leaves on your skin. Personally I also like a thicker consistency to my clay masks. I'm sorry but this product was just a total fail for me. I wont repurchase it because it irritated my skin and I didn't see any particular improvements to my skin when using it. I better just stick to my trusty Aztec Secrets clay mask.

Summa summarum är jag väldigt nöjd med att jag prövade dessa produkter från Michael Todd True Organics. Jag hittade några absoluta favoriter som jag kommer att fortsätta använda med som med allt nytt fanns det även några missar. Någonting som jag dock hoppas Michael Todd i sin helhet kommer förbättra är förpackningarna. De här helt för stora, klumpiga och opraktiska.  Annars är det nog ett märke jag gillar och jag vill absolut pröva mer av deras produkter. Jojoba Charcoal Scrub och den legendariska Knu Anti-Aging Face Lift krämen är några av de produkter jag är speciellt intresserad av. Jag hoppas någon enstaka ens orkade läsa igenom denna recension och att den var till någon hjälp! :)

Summa summarum I'm very pleased that I tried these products from Michael Todd True Organics. I found some absolute favorites that I'll continue using and just like with everything new there were also some misses. Something I really hope Michael Todd in their entirety will improve is the packaging. It's just very bulky and impractical. Non the less I really like them as a brand I am intrigued to try more of their products, particularly the Jojoba Charcoal Scrub and the legendary Knu Anti-Aging Face Lift moisturizer. Idag är det en så underbar solig dag (plus att jag har två tenter i morgon) så idag blir det bara ett kort NOTD, nail of the day, nagellacks inlägg. Testade för första gången Wet n' Wilds nagellack så får återkomma senare och berätta vad jag gillar dem.

Today it's such a beautiful sunny day (and I also have to exams tomorrow) so I'll only do a quick NOTD, nail of the day post today. I tried Wet n' Wild's nail polishes for the first time so I definitely have  to come back to you and let you know what I think about them.

Skrev tidigare lite om vårens sminktrender. En trend som jag inte nämnde är Puri-tan trenden, som MAC's director of artistry Terry Barber kallar den. Denna look fokuserar precis som de trender jag tidigare diskuterat på ögonbrynen och på att se väldigt naturlig ut. Det är meningen att sminket skall se lite slitet ut, nästan som man stått och kisat i solen väldigt länge. Den huvudsakliga färgen som används är sepia.
   Jag gjorde min egen version av en sepia look, men min är kanske lite mer av en "gå ut" look än naturlig. Jag använde mig av endast en skugga, MAC's Pro Longwear Eyeshadow i Uninterrupted. Jag fullkomligt älskar denna skugga, den kompletterar blåa ögon så otroligt bra och får dem att se ännu blåare ut. Hoppas ni gillar looken!

I previously wrote about some of this spring's makeup trends. One trend I didn't touch upon is the Puri-tan trend, as MAC'S director of artistry Terry Barber calls it. This look also focuses on the eyebrows and being quite natural just like the other trends I've mentioned. The makeup is supposed to look quite weathered, almost like you've been squinting in the sun for a long time. The main color used to create such a look is sepia.
   I created my own version of the sepia look, but mine is more going out makeup than super natural. I only used one eyeshadow, MAC's Pro Longwear eyeshadow in Uninterrupted. I absolutely love this eyeshadow, it compliments blue eyes so well and make them look even blue-er. Hope you like the look!

Review: Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector Combination to Oily Skin

Jag har alltid förhållit mig lite skeptisk till BB krämer, eller speciellt de västerländska varianterna. Varför jag inte provat någon BB kräm förrän nu är för att jag ansett att (det västerländska varianterna igen) de varit väldigt lika färgade dagkrämer och dessa täcker ofta väldigt lite, vilket inte är tillräckligt för min hy. Hur som helst såg jag en dag Lisa Eldridge använda Garniers BB kräm för fet hy i en av sina videor och eftersom jag är ett massivt fan av henne bestämde jag mig för att testa den.
    Precis som alla BB krämer lovar Garniers version också gör en massa under för din hy, men som väntat är det så klart ingen mirakelkräm. Det som först fick mig att gilla denna kräm är att den är lite mer gul än de flesta andra BB krämer jag sett, alltså matchar det min hy bättre. Det andra var att den också täckte rätt så bra vilket var ett viktigt kriterium för mig. Alltså verkade allt riktigt lovande, det som dock var helt avgörande för mig var den håller riktigt bra på min feta hy. Visst glänser jag lite efter sex till åtta timmar efter applikation men krämen har absolut inte börjat brytas ned, utan täcker fortfarande jämnt och bra. Jag vet dock inte om jag precis håller med påståendet om att den får porerna att se mindre ut men jag står helt och hållet fast vid påståendet att den inte täpper porerna. Jag har ganska känslig hy och får lätt finnar men som tur var reagerade inte min hy alls negativt på denna produkt.
    Från och med nu kommer jag knappast att använda foundation till vardags eftersom denna produkt tagit dess plats. Huden ser inte helt felfri ut utan ganska naturlig, man ser lite nog felen men de är inte lika tydliga. Dessutom har den solskyddsfaktor 20 vilket är riktigt bra. Kommer absolut att köpa den mörkare varianten till sommaren.
    Jag kan helt och håller rekommendera denna BB kräm till alla som har fet till normal hy. Ifall man har super mycket att täcka än detta kanske inte något för dig, men jag har verkligen inte perfekt hy och för mig funkar den bra tillsammans med concealer. Det enda negativa är egentligen förpackningen. Eftersom krämen är super tunn rinner den lätt ut ur tuben och det hela blir ganska klottigt, dessutom får man ofta mer produkt än man egentligen behöver. I Finland kostar krämn 13,90€ och finns att köpa i det flesta affärer som säljer Garnier.


I've always been quite skeptical when it comes to BB creams, well actually towards western BB creams . Why I actually haven't tried any before now is because I though they've been rather similar to tinted moisturizers, which gives you very little coverage, and that's just not suitable for my skin. Anyway, one day I say Lisa Eldridge using this Garnier BB cream in one of her videos, and because I'm a massive fan I decided to give it a go.
    Just like most BB creams Garnier's version also promises tons of different skin care benefits but as expected it's not some kind of miracle cream. The first thing I really liked about this BB cream was that it's more yellow toned then other ones I've seen, hence it matches my skin tone better. An other thing I really liked is that it has decent coverage, which is crucial for me. So it's pretty much perfect for me and what makes it even better is that it lasts very well on my oily skin. Sure my skin is a bit shiny after 6-8h of wear but the BB cream hasn't started to break down and it still covers pretty good and evenly. I can't say that I agree with the claim that it makes your pores appear smaller but I definitely stand by the claim that it doesn't clog pores. Fortunately my sensitive acne prone skin hasn't reacted badly to this product at all.
   I probably wont use traditional foundation during normal weekdays anymore because this BB cream has taken its place. It wont give you flawless skin but it will even out your skin tone and make any imperfections less visible while still looking natural. It also has an SPF of 20 which is good for everyday use. I will definitely be getting the darker color for summer.
   I would totally recommend this BB cream to anyone with oily, combination or normal skin. If you have loads to cover it might not be the best option for you but I have by now means perfect skin and combined with concealer it gives me great everyday coverage. The only negative thing for em would be the packaging. Since the cream is super thin and very liquidy it leaks out of the nozzle of the tube and makes everything quite messy. It also makes you use a lot more product then you actually need.  Here in Finland cream costs 13,90€ and you can get it from pretty much any shop that sells Garnier.
