Jag kunde säga redan efter första försökte med denna svamp att det är mina nya absoluta favorit metod att applicera foundation. Resultatet blir så nära felfritt man kan komma! Täckningsgraden av foundationen blir just lagom, en blandar ut foundationen perfekt på huden och lämnar ett riktigt fint, jämnt och "perfekt" resultat.
Svampen funkar enligt den principen att den sväller och då man väter den och på dessa sätt suger den inte upp lika mycket av foundationen som annars. Den blir också mycket mjukare och "studsigare" när den blir fuktig. Foudationen appliceras på huden genom att man "trycker" in den men hjälp av svampen. Man skall alltså inte blanda så men en kabuki eller andra penslar utan lätt studsa svampen över huden för att applicera foundationen. Denna metod skapar faktiskt en s.k. air brushed finish. Svampen funkar att använda med flytande & kräm foundation, kräm rouge, bronzer & highlighter och concealer, så den är riktigt mångsidig.
Den enda negativa är att svampen i något skede kommer att falla sönder, den håller helt enkelt inte lika länge som en pensel, men den är ju billigare. Dessutom måste man tvätta svampen efter varje application, vilket sliter på svampen, men det är riktigt riktigt viktigt så att inte bakterier samlas i den.
Jag rekommenderar alla att testa dessa svampar, men kan pröva den riktiga Beauty Blendern om man vill, men flera företag har kommit ut med sina egna versioner i olika prisklasser. Foundation appliceringen kommer att förändras betydligt efter att man testat denna!
The Beauty Blender sponge has been hyped about for sooo long I've just haven't gotten until now. I've got mine from Love Makeup for £3,50 or about 4€. It's not the original Beauty Blender but it is of a very similar concept.
The sponge is meant to be used damp. When wet it, it almost doubles in sizes and gets really soft and plum. This prevents the sponge from sucking up tons of foundation and makes the application really smooth. You apply the foundation by patting it in to the skin with the sponge. You don't want to blend as you would with a normal foundation brush, use the same kind of motion as with a stippling brush. This method creates pretty much a so called "air brushed finish". You can use the sponge with both cream & liquid foundation, cream & liquid blushes,highlighters and bronzers, but also with concealer.
The first time I tried out the sponge I knew that this is going to be my new favorite way to apply foundation. The result is just so close to perfection you can get! The coverage of the foundation becomes just right, it blends the foundation wonderfully and just leaves the skin with a gorgeous natural finish.
The only negative thing I could come up with is that at some point the sponge will fall to pieces, it just won't last as long as a foundation brush, but it is cheaper as well. Also you have to remember to was the sponge thoroughly after every use. This will wear on the sponge but it is important because you don't want any bacteria to start growing in it.
I would everyone to try this kind of a sponge, whether it be the original Beauty Blender or a similar sponge. Several companies make them nowadays and they come at different prices as well. You foundation application will be different once you've tried the sponge, haha!

| Svampen som torr. Då är den ganska hård och liten. Tippen passar utmärkt att blanda ut foundation & concealer på de ställen som annars kan vara svåra att nå t.ex. runt näsan eller under ögonen. The sponge dry, it's not as spongy and smaller. The tip is excellent for blending foundation and concealer in hard to reach places like around the nose and under the eyes. |
